Construction joints Isoplam  

The Isoplam construction joint is a prefabricated containment joint consisting of two 3-meter-long metal bars, bent into an "L" shape and paired together, into which dowels are inserted perpendicularly. It serves as a high-strength element to connect concrete flooring sections poured at different times. It is widely used in industrial concrete flooring, both indoors and outdoors, where it helps reduce vertical and/or rotational movements between adjacent floor sections. This prevents surface unevenness and avoids chipping and deterioration of the edges caused by heavy traffic and loads. The joint enables the transfer of stresses caused by traffic while allowing horizontal movement of the concrete slabs, thus accommodating the natural deformation of the slabs due to plastic shrinkage of the concrete and thermal variations. Additionally, it acts as a complete containment formwork, preventing the formation of the typical "shoe" of concrete that occurs with partial formworks and causes cracks and fissures on the surface. The joint’s physical design also facilitates the installation of dowels and the correct positioning of the welded mesh. The construction joints come pre-sheathed, are available in various heights, and can be requested in galvanized or iron versions.
