The respect for the context and the natural character of the place led to the creation of a new Villa in Torri del Benaco as an almost monolithic structure open towards Lake Garda. In addition to the architectural choices, the enhancement of the project is realized through the use of soft colors and specific materials, such as Isoplam's Micro Compact cement surface for the entire outdoor area.
A landscape integration that embraces the changing seasons, through architectural and material choices that seem to "reflect" the changing light, shades, and natural colors: this is the project for a new private Villa in Torri del Benaco (Verona).
Perched on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, the lakeside setting has been the guiding theme to find the right harmony between the genius loci, the design guidelines of Studio Finotti Albino and the clients' desire for maximum privacy and minimal environmental impact.
The house, therefore, has been designed to be perceived only from the lake, rather than from the road above, and plays with the intersection of two main volumes arranged on staggered levels, due to their different exposure and the different role of the roofs (one for housing solar and photovoltaic panels, the other to minimize the ridge height). The balance between the two structures is mediated by large glazed surfaces facing Lake Garda – to maximize natural light and allow for the harmonious integration of the landscape within the structure – and by a large west-facing terrace overlooking the lake, surrounded by the garden sloping down towards the valley, which encloses the space dedicated to the swimming pool.
In order to enhance the integration into the context – according to this idea of global development that intertwines nature and construction – the use of specific materials and soft color choices was also made in agreement with the landscape's characteristics and the principles of sustainability and eco-compatibility.
Isoplam's Micro Compact was chosen as the continuous coating for the outdoor walkways and pool area: thanks to the textured decoration of the surface, it provides a special soft-touch effect, which is pleasant to both the touch and the eye. In just 2 mm, it creates a mix of shapes and shades that reflects the brightest gleams of dawn and the warmer tones of sunset, giving the Villa's geometries a delicate liveliness.
This skillful play of gradients is complemented by the excellent technical performance of this cement-based solution, addressing the needs of areas exposed to climatic variations, as well as frequent use and social gatherings.
The anti-slip and anti-skid properties, combined with water resistance, make Micro Compact the most suitable flooring for pool edges and adjacent walkways; moreover, its outstanding performance in terms of wear resistance, weather resistance, abrasion, crack resistance, and frost makes this solution ideal for residential exteriors.
Finally, the absence of joints makes the decorative surface easy to clean, and the composition with natural aggregates, free of formaldehyde, does not release substances harmful to human health and the environment, complying with the latest regulations regarding safety and well-being.
