A beach holiday today is a 360-degree experience, from the beach to the house: the tourist must be able to enjoy the sun and the shore, but also the place where he is staying. In fact, the latter is not just a point of support or an anonymous environment with carelessly furnished spaces, but has become an extension of the concept of home, a personalized space in which to rediscover relaxation.
An example of innovation and consolidation of this concept, where the house has a central role in enriching one's summer experience, is located in Milano Marittima, a historic town on the Romagna Riviera.
Light, serenity, attention to furnishings: the triad on which the restoration of a 150 m2 attic complete with covered terrace with sea view is based, which is part of a residence immersed in the pine forests of the Riviera. White paint is banned, the sand-colored walls create a delightful continuum between the ceiling and the floor that honors the material-chromatic palette of the landscape in front. The interiors, in fact, have been designed as a natural extension of the terrace, and the very color of the wall unit at the base of the TV recalls the marine horizon illuminated by the sun.
Micro Velvet by Isoplam was chosen as the basis on which to place this visual harmony. Used to decorate the flooring in the living room, kitchen, hallway and bathrooms, the concrete cladding in a relaxing Turtledove nuance matches perfectly with the other materials chosen (Iso Tonachino for doors and walls, Corian for the walls in the bathrooms) and thus leaves the task of defining the border between floor and wall to the skirting boards.
Each space is well defined and never suffocated thanks to a careful choice of design for furniture and ornaments. The minimal lines and pastel colors help the light to reflect on every corner, as well as the careful furnishing choices, including the custom-made built-in wardrobe and the flush doors that allow for considerable space savings.
Robustness and versatility, the principles of Micro Velvet
Conceived as a new version of the Microverlay decorative surface, also used to cover the terrace floor, Micro Velvet combines the robustness of traditional concrete and a velvety and marble effect in just 3 mm thickness. In addition to allowing the application of textures with a pleasant material effect, the non-uniform movements on the surface make it possible to obtain a non-slip surface that is also smooth to the touch; an additional safety for a material that can also be placed in contact with water (such as bathroom and shower cubicle).
Its low thickness and its excellent adhesion qualities on pre-existing materials (plasterboard, ceramic, marble, mosaic, tiles, sand-cement screed, self-levelling products, concrete, wood, plastic) make it the optimal coating not only for floors and walls but also for furniture and furnishing accessories. In fact, Micro Velvet can cover vertical surfaces, a distinctive trait that denotes its high versatility in the modeling and laying phases.
Perfect for contexts where spaces need to be enhanced, thanks to the numerous colors available, the absence of grout lines or joints also makes Micro Velvet a hygienic and easy-to-clean surface.
