Isoplam's rustic effect cements: the elegance of Skyconcrete Outdoor
Skyconcrete Outdoor is the low thickness cloud-effect floor offered by Isoplam®. Its elegance certainly does not go unnoticed: the shades of color that characterize it refer with the imagination to the unmistakable style of marble floors.
This particular effect is obtained through the use of a special colored cement mixture which, together with the particular processing, manual or with a mechanical trowel, allows to obtain the characteristic nuances of the low thickness nuvolato. In the Isoplam® catalog it is possible to choose between 34 different shades.
Another element that distinguishes Skyconcrete Outdoor is its low thickness: just 2-3 millimeters. The reduced thickness allows the application on existing floors: a nice saving if you think that it will not be necessary to incur any demolition costs of the old surfaces. At the beginning of this article, we highlighted the versatility of concrete. Therefore, it is no coincidence that Skyconcrete Outdoor, like all the other Isoplam® low-thickness rustic-effect cements of Isoplam, can be used as a cover for ceramic floors, tiles, and sand-cement screeds.
Plam Stampable: the beauty of stamped concrete
Still on the subject of low thickness, it is impossible not to mention Plam Stampable Overlay. Its thickness is once again minimal: it ranges from a minimum of 1 centimeter to a maximum of 2.5 centimeters. This feature makes it suitable even in contexts where it is practically impossible to cast concrete. Its versatility makes it possible to pave paths in gardens, parks, country houses, but it can also be used for the creation of pavements in urban spaces and parking lots.
Plam Stampable is present both in the Overlay version (low thickness) and in the classic version. Compared to classic stone or tile flooring, the latter also guarantees a considerable saving of time and labor for its creation.
In fact, moulded concrete does not require a structural screed. After the preparation of the substrate, it will be enough to pour the concrete directly.
The ease of application does not come at the expense of the mechanical qualities of Plam Stampable: it is resistant to time, wear, and atmospheric agents. Furthermore, after the flooring has been created, Isoplam® Plam Sealing resin is applied, making the surface resistant to oils, greases, and molds.
Finally, we come to the aesthetic aspect: the exceptional yield immediately catches the eye. Stamped concrete simulates the most diverse materials in an extremely realistic way.

Plam Spray: a “spray” to renew concrete surfaces
Plam Spray is the quickest and most effective solution for renovating old floors or decorating new ones. Its application technique is based on stencils designed by Isoplam® to create geometries and decorations, capable of giving a touch of unique creativity to surfaces. Bricks, cobblestones, but also more complex designs such as Greek frets and rosettes can be reproduced. In short, you will give your spaces a real artist's touch!
The stencils used for the creation of rustic effect creative concrete are in plasticized paper and water-resistant. The desired shades are applied on them through a special-colored armor that makes the surface non-slip. Also in this case, at the end of the work, the Plam Sealing resin by Isoplam® is applied to ensure greater resistance to trampling and wear to the flooring.
Rustic effect cement with Isoplam artificial rocks
And speaking of rustic effect cements, one cannot fail to mention the stone effect. It is a timeless must in furnishing choices, capable of conquering both the most classic and the most contemporary designs. Leaving aside the natural rock, which is expensive and difficult to work with, the best solution is to rely on artificial rocks.
Isoplam® has created its own personal alternative for interiors and exteriors:
- Plam Rock, the special Isoplam® fiber-reinforced mortar ideal for recreating fake stones, waterfalls, caves, but also simple steps and tables.
- Plam Stone, the stone effect molded plaster to decorate both internal and external walls.
Isoplam® technicians through Plam Rock and Plam Stone have created sensational structures in amusement parks, wellness centers, Bed & Breakfasts, and obviously private homes. Isoplam® printed plasters are made by preparing a support with the application of Deco Primer Base on which, once dry, the Plam Stone mixture is applied in a thickness of 1 to 2.5 cm. The surface obtained is then impressed with special molds or rubber rollers available in different textures. After drying, you can proceed with coloring with Plam Wax or Plam Paint to give realistic shades of color. The protective resin Plam Sealing/O will finally seal the work guaranteeing extreme durability over time.
Exposed aggregate paving and draining gravel: products with an ecological soul
Among rustic effect cements, there are also some solutions that wink at ecology. We are obviously talking about the washed gravel and the draining gravel.
The first is made up of cement, fine marble grit and river stones that are combined with a special colored and additive fiber-reinforced mixture.
Isoplam® exposed aggregate paving ItalianTerrazzo® also commonly called washed stone, reproduces the elegant and timeless effect of the "Venetian terrace". Ideal for creating elegant exterior surfaces with a great architectural effect.
Its thickness is rather limited: just 3 centimeters. This feature allows its application also on existing floors, saving onerous demolition costs.
Moving on to Plam Resin Drain, draining washed gravel, it is necessary to underline its draining qualities. Composed of pebbles and epoxy or polyurethane resin, it allows rainwater to flow easily. Doing so, limits the slipperiness of the floor and returns the water to the ground, avoiding its deterioration.
Due to its characteristics, Plam Resin Drain is perfect for the renovation of outdoor spaces. However, even in interior applications it guarantees an excellent aesthetic result: it is possible to choose between various geometries to recreate the desired design. In addition to that, it is resistant to wear, weathering and even yellowing.
