A contemporary renovation project by the architect Lisa Corte for a place rich in history, where Isoplam's Skyconcrete Indoor coating chosen for all the interior floors becomes the key element that harmonizes the skilful material contrasts and the entire design in style industrial.
Bringing back an 18th century historic building, to transform it into a villa where old and new weave a harmonious dialogue in perfect industrial style, characterized by material colours, rough surfaces and spaces designed by light: this is the soul of the design concept of a private residence in the province of Treviso, renovated by the architect Lisa Corte in order to reuse and enhance both the rooms and the furnishings.
The house, located in Oderzo and already present in the maps of the town since 1810, is distributed over three floors, each of about 85 square meters: the lower floor where the entrance, the sleeping area and an independent space are located; the mezzanine floor which includes the living area; and the attic. The decision to reverse the two main floors arose from the fact that the spaces on the upper level, in addition to being the brightest in the house, have a greater height and are characterized by a splendid wooden ceiling with exposed beams. The mezzanine floor, therefore, is the real fulcrum of the villa: an airy open space that develops into a unique and multiform place, in which different functions interpenetrate each other, from the large living room to the dining room with open kitchen, with island and worktop.
The entire project is based on clear and clean lines, sober and evocative at the same time. The furniture is functional and endowed with a grunge charm, conferred by the choice of simple but robust materials, such as wood and iron, often the result of the recovery of vintage pieces able to express their beauty through the small imperfections caused by time. Also on the lower floor, the balanced use of the industrial style contaminates and personalizes the spaces, for example through the particular finish of some walls with a sagram, which allow a glimpse of the underlying wall texture.
To lighten the hardness and shadowy tones of the metal, as well as the soft shapes of some design elements, the architect Lisa Corte has chosen another essential material of great effect, which gives a profound sense of continuity to the environments: the Skyconcrete Indoor creative cement of Isoplam, used to cover all the internal floors of the villa. Perfect for a refurbishment of this type, as it can be easily applied over existing surfaces without invasive dismantling work, while ensuring a strong, high-adhesion solution.
Cement coating that combines the elegance of the cloudy effect with the versatility of a continuous low-thickness surface, Skyconcrete Indoor in just 2 mm has restored all the identifying character of concrete and has been able to harmonize the material and chromatic contrasts of the house thanks to the delicate Light Gray colour. The cold and luminous nuance, in fact, blends fluidly with the warmth of natural wood and the vintage appeal of wrought iron, giving the eye a cleverly balanced play of colors and combinations in every part of the villa (even in the service and such as the bathroom, the bedrooms and the walk-in closet).
The floor with a polished effect, customizable and resistant
Thanks to the high degree of customization, given by the various finishes and the numerous colors available, Skyconcrete Indoor by Isoplam transforms interiors into scenographic environments with a strong aesthetic impact, allowing you to reproduce the characteristic nuances and industrial style of Nuvolato even on old and worn floors ( ceramic, tiles, marble, concrete, sand-cement screed, self-levelling) without the need to remove or demolish them.
The excellent qualities of adherence and resistance to impact, chemical and atmospheric agents, abrasion, cracking and frost, make Skyconcrete Indoor the ideal solution for covering any room, even with underfloor heating.
The ease of cleaning, due to the absence of joints and the protective layers, and the absence of substances dangerous to human health and the environment (thanks to the water-based composition) make it perfectly suitable for situations that require a high level of hygiene, in compliance with the most current regulations on safety and well-being.
